Privacy Policy

ListingLab ("we", "us") is a listing audit tool for Shopify stores, operated by [Legal name / ABN if applicable], based in Australia. This policy explains what data we collect when you use ListingLab, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address, used to create and manage your account and to send service-related messages.
Store and product data (via the Shopify API, with your authorization). When you connect your Shopify store, we access, on a read-only basis except where noted:
- Basic store information (store name, domain, plan currency).
- Product listing content: titles, descriptions, tags, images and image alt text, and product metadata. We use this to score your listings and identify gaps.
- Order and sales data: recent paid-order totals per product. We use this solely to rank audit findings by commercial impact — so you can see which underperforming listings are attached to real revenue. We do not access your customers' personal details (names, emails, or addresses) and we do not use your sales data for any purpose other than displaying prioritisation inside your own account.
Draft content (write access, Pro plan). If you choose to apply a suggested fix, we create a draft product copy in your Shopify store via the API. We never modify or publish your live listings automatically; every draft requires your review inside Shopify.
Usage data. Standard analytics about how the app is used (pages visited, features used, errors), to improve the service.
How we use your data
- To run listing audits and generate scores, findings, and suggested titles, descriptions, and tags.
- To rank findings against your recent sales data.
- To create reviewable draft listings in your store when you request it.
- To provide support and send essential service updates.
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
AI processing
Suggested listing content (titles, descriptions, tags) is generated using third-party AI providers. Only the product listing content necessary to generate a suggestion is sent for processing; your order and revenue figures are not shared with AI providers. We use providers whose terms prohibit training their models on our customers' data.
Data storage and security
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Store connections use Shopify OAuth 2.0; we never see or store your Shopify password.
- Access to production data is limited to the operator of the service.
Data retention and deletion
- You can disconnect your store or delete your account at any time from within the app; disconnecting revokes our API access immediately.
- When you uninstall ListingLab from your Shopify store, we receive Shopify's uninstall notification and delete the store's product, order, and audit data within 30 days.
- We honor Shopify's mandatory data-erasure requests (customer and shop redaction webhooks) within the timeframes Shopify requires.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time by emailing us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are in the EU/UK, you have equivalent rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, and portability.
Compliance
- We comply with Shopify's API Terms and Partner Program requirements, including protected customer data requirements.
- We respect all platform rate limits and policies.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where changes significantly affect how your data is handled, notify you by email or in-app notice.
